DNA: Analysis ITRE Draft Report
Our analysis of the draft report by Michał Kobosko (Renew Europe, PL), rapporteur of the lead committee ITRE on the Digital Networks Act (DNA), rates the most relevant 99 amendments and gives a voting recommendation for each.
The draft report would open loopholes in net neutrality and pave the way for paid fast lanes. It would also introduce network fees through so-called “significant traffic providers”, weaken consumer rights and let telecom companies process confidential metadata for “fraud prevention”. The only bright spots are stronger independence for regulators and more freedom to choose your own devices.
