DearMEP is a free and open-source software tool that we developed to empower European citizens. We believe that reaching out to decision-makers should be as straightforward as calling a friend – and that’s exactly what we’ve achieved with DearMEP.

For over two years, we’ve worked intensely on this project, together with a team of developers and graphic designers; All driven by the same conviction that democracy thrives when participation is easy and accessible.

Today, we’re happy to present a tool that breaks down barriers to engagement and strengthens the relationship between citizens and their representatives.

Ready for Your Campaign

The source code of DearMEP is publicly available as free software. This means you can start right away and set it up for your own needs. Originally designed for the chatcontrol campaign, DearMEP can be adapted for any issue: enabling citizens to talk to their MEPs on any given topic.

You can either take the tool as-is and simply add the content related to your specific campaign, or even modify it to enable direct communication between citizens and politicians in a large variety of possible applications.
