epicenter.works is a Vienna based European digital rights NGO with a focus on privacy and net neutrality. Our goal is to strengthen fundamental rights in the digital world. We work close to the legislative and regulatory process, but are independent of political parties and corporate influence. Our growing team currently consists of six people.
About the position
The Economic Analyst for net neutrality violations will be an epicenter.works team member based in Europe, who applies the methods of strategic litigation on net neutrality violations.
This position presents the opportunity to protect a free and open internet and to ensure the compliance of the practices of telecom companies with the EU telecom regulatory framework.
After having worked intensely in the legislative process on the new net neutrality provisions in the EU telecom regulatory framework, our current aim is to apply those rules to the net neutrality violations in existence that restrict user freedoms and the level playing field of the internet.
A successful application will have academic qualifications in the field of economy. Practical experience with regulatory affairs and in the field of telecommunication is a strong benefit. Legal experience in and outside of the academic field is beneficial. The applicant should have a strong interest in technology, digital and human rights, and political participation.
Being well organised, motivated and reliable is crucial. Applicants should demonstrate research and writing skills in English and other European languages.
The position as a Economic Analyst will be based in Vienna, Austria. Nevertheless, remote working could be considered for the right candidate.
Time Commitment and Benefits
The duration of the position is not limited. This is a full time position, but for the right candidate a part time commitment can be considered. A competitive stipend will be offered. We’ll also gladly offer academic credit and assistance where possible.
